Content Page Elements

The Content page template is used for a large range of pages across the CGU website due to its flexible structure. A variety of Inline and Side Bar modules compliment the main Content Area, allowing for customized content and call to actions to suit almost any need.

Introduction – Feature

Module description:

The Introduction – Feature module is the preferred header for content pages on the CGU website. The feature image used in this header adds visual flair to the top of the page, which help add visual different to otherwise similar looking content pages. The feature image should be treated as per the latest CGU brand style guidelines with the background fading to transparent.

Keep the heading and byline as short and on point as possible. Use the Content Area for full explanation of the pages' topic.

Requirements:

  • Breadcrumbs
  • Title (max 30 characters)
  • Optional: Short byline paragraph (max 125 characters)
  • Feature background image (fade background to transparent) Image dimensions : 625 × 300

Introduction – Small

Module description:

The Introduction – Small module is the secondary preference for the header for content pages. This variation can be used where time and budget are limited, as the smaller image doesn’t require treatment. There is also an option to not include an image in this header section, but this is not recommended.

Keep the heading and byline as short and on point as possible. Use the Content Area for full explanation of the pages’ topic.

Requirements:

  • Breadcrumbs
  • Title (max 30 characters)
  • Optional: Short byline paragraph (max 125 characters)
  • Small content image, dimensions: 380 × 229

Content Area

Module description:

The Content Area module houses the bulk of the information on a content page. There are a variety of styles of text to choose from. Follow the recommendations to the left as a best practice for structuring large amounts of content.

If there are large amounts of content (multiple pages in Microsoft Word) consider breaking content up into multiple content pages. Use the Inline Navigation module to link these pages together.

Requirements:

  • Requirements vary per element, follow style of the above examples

Recommendations

  • Use Headings and subheadings to structure content and make large amounts of text easy to scan
  • Break up large blocks of text into multiple paragraphs
  • Use Call to Action buttons to link to important links only, like online quotes. Use normal text hyperlinks for all other links. (button text limit: max 30 characters)

Inline Navigation

Module description:

The Inline Navigation module can be used to link to multiple sub-pages from a content page. Users can use the top of page breadcrumbs to navigate back to the original content page when on a sub-page.

All ‘Inline’ modules should appear within the white box from the Content Area module. Inline modules can be placed in-between paragraph content.

Requirements:

  • Title (max 60 characters)
  • Links (min 2, max 10)
    • Each the display text for each link should line up with the linked page's title.

Inline Call to Action

Module description:

In cases where the Content Area Call to Action button isn’t prominent enough, the Inline Call to Action module can be used.

All ‘Inline’ modules should appear within the white box from the Content Area module. Inline modules can be placed in-between paragraph content.

Requirements:

  • Title (max 60 characters)
  • Body copy (description text, paragraph content)
  • Call to Action button (button text limit: max 30 characters)

Inline Accordion

Module description:

For areas of text that require a question and answer format or expanding elements, the Inline Accordion module can be used. It's most commonly used for Frequently Asked Question sections. It could also be used to display policy features, with the details for each feature shown in the expanded view.

All ‘Inline’ modules should appear within the white box from the Content Area module. Inline modules can be placed in-between paragraph content.

Requirements:

  • Title (max 60 characters)
  • Accordion panels (min 2, max 10)
    • Each panel should contain: Short title (max 60 characters), Expanded content (sub-headings and body copy)

Inline Table

Module description:

The Inline Table module allows for table/simple-Excel content within the main content area of a page. The example above was used to display policy features. Customisations to the table layout, adding header / footer rows or additional column is possible but may require extra development.

All ‘Inline’ modules should appear within the white box from the Content Area module. Inline modules can be placed in-between paragraph content.

Requirements:

  • Title (max 60 characters)
  • Table content

Forms and Downloads

Module description:

The Forms and Downloads module sits at the bottom of some content pages, and holds all downloads for the page.

The heading for this module can be changed to suit whatever downloads are placed in this section.

Requirements:

  • Title (max 60 characters)
  • Downloads (max 10)
    • Each download should contain: Document title, File type, Document size
