Dodging Bali belly

Bali has some of the best food in the world – who can resist a tasty nasi goreng washed down with a crisp, cold Bintang? Still, to keep Bali belly at bay, make sure you drink bottled water, and stay away from uncooked food and ice cubes. If you do get diarrhoea or experience a high fever, see a doctor as soon as possible.

Riding motorbikes safely

Getting around on a motorbike is a popular way to see Bali. If you do jump on a motorbike, wear a helmet and protective clothing. Remember, Bali doesn't have a reciprocal medical agreement with Australia so, if you get injured, you have to pay your own bills. Check what cover your travel insurance policy offers for motorcycling and if there are any restrictions to the cover.
